The extra wings are kept just to protect your dart and at the same time, it helps you to keep your board protected from the dust as you can keep it locked. So, you can buy a board that has come with the cabinet.

Use hardboard or a cardboard

If you don’t have enough money to buy a surround or cabinet, you can use a hardboard. Just cut a sheet of hardboard around 2 feet of length and width. Adjust it on the wall and place the dartboard in the center of the board. The board will always protect the wall.

If you cannot find a hardboard, cardboard is okay then. But you need to adjust At least 2 or 3 cardboard to make it thicker so that the pin cannot cross the thickness of the cardboard and stack on the wall. Thus, it will be always protected.
